Verne graduated from Confederation College in Thunder Bay as a
commercial pilot in 1977. Immediately, I took a job as a "Bush Pilot" in the
outpost business in the summer months. My winters I spent running a fur trap-line
over much of North Western Ontario. Working in the industry for a decade
learning the ropes put me in good position to acquire and develop my own
business in 1986. My wife, Andrea, came onto the scene from working in a lodge
in Alaska at that time and together developed our outpost business over the next
20 years to have the current mix of lakes that Slate Falls Outposts is today.
Some of the best facilities on some of the best lakes available in our area.
